Shower Power

Hydrotherapy is good for your body as well as your mind.  And when combined with aromatherapy it is a powerful way to release tension and get you ready for sleep, or energize you for the day.  Take a few minutes each day to make the most of the therapeutic effects of water.

To energize: At the end of your shower, turn the water temperature to cool and using a shower gel with an uplifting scent, such as citrus, scrub your body vigorously.

To unwind: Using warm water and a relaxing scent, such as lavender, gently massage your muscles.

You can’ help but notice it. The talk of money and the economy is everywhere. The mortgage crisis , the stock market. the threat of recession. How can you avoid it, it’s in the news every where. One story that got my attention was what the market cost some people on Mon 01/21/08. The news cast said that if a person had a investment of $1000.00 at the beginning of the year on that day it was worth $846.00. O.K let’s see $1000.00 minus $846.00 that a loss of $154.00. That does not seem to be much of a hit until you look at it differently. Let’s see gas in my neck of the woods is about $3.09 a gallon and milk and corn products and everything else has gotten much higher. Meaning that the spending power of that $154.00 is more like $80.00 and that $846.00 is more like $486.00 to $560.00 depending on where you live. Simply stated our dollar is getting smaller and our investments have less value. Which means things are bad my friends. But maybe not as bad as they seem. Remember the lesson on optimism.
The Good News
Time

There are some time honored investment that are more valuable now than ever before. The first is time and how we use it. We have all heard of the phrases” saving time” and “quality time”, but some how we really don’t think of time in the same way we think of money. Maybe it’s about time we did . Time is much more valuable and this is certainly a time when we must make the most of it. I have said this many times before in this and every other article I have written, the truth is it really dose come down to how we use our time. I wrote this article while watching the very news story this article is about. How did I do it you ask? I used a small hand held micro digital recorder Panasonic model RR-US430. This recorder also comes with word recognition software that does a pretty good job of transcribing. So once I capture the story (sometimes even while doing something else, I know the over used word multi-tasking), I can go on to doing something else.

Managing your time well can bring you more money and happiness. By managing your time well you get more value out of your life. Using your time well gives you more time to do what you want to do (work in the garden ,spend time with your children or friends ect), it also gives you more time to think. There is no substitute for creative thinking when it come to wealth building. Good ideas are making people wealthy everyday. The problem is because of the mis-management of time (and others controlling our time) most of us don’t have time to think. a least not for ourselves. I am reminded of the line from the movie” The Great Debaters “an excellent movie if you get a chance go see it.

“We do what we have to do, to do what we want to do” this statement was attributed to Danzel Washington

There are a couple of places on the internet I have found to be great resources for learning to manage your time and being more creative and productive. The first is almost any of the many Getting Thing Done (GTD) sites. GTD is a system designed by David Allen it has been around a while. The other I recommend is Simpleology by Mark Joyner.

Down load the free tool bar with both of these time saving tools     http://businessplustypepad.CommunityToolbars.com

( Joyner is a internet marketer so he approaches time management from that perspective, but the free software is excellent) and the last resource is inpowr another great program to mange your time and life. These resources should give you a head start on maximizing your greatest asset time. Leave your comments and let me know how you use your time. Or how these tools have helped you. There are a few more recession proof resources I’d like to talk about but in keeping with the Keep it simple rule I will leave those for later. Regards
